I received a very pertinent question about whether we do anything special to prevent our dogs from picking up bed bugs during their inspections?
And here was my answer:  We have yet to have had that problem occur. I had great concerns initially however in low infestations this is highly unlikely since the bed bugs are “nocturnal”, they don’t like vibrations and their preferred food is human blood. Only in high infestations will the bed bugs behave differently because they compete for human blood. Also, we do not bring our dogs in an environment where there is a high infestation. That would completely confuse them since the scent would permeate the room and they would not know how to alert to that. Great question from Kathy Fogarty from Ford’s Hometown Services!
